The Nigra Inkberry has an upright, rounded habitat that develops multiple trunks. It is an evergreen that has lustrous dark green leaves that turn a dark purple in winter. It will produce small white flowers in the spring and in the fall, it will produce a small black berry that will stay through most of winter. This is a very tough evergreen that can tolerate a range of conditions. This highly adaptable shrub does well in home landscapes. It can thrive in conditions ranging from full sun to moderate shade; from wet to dry sites; and from sandy soils to clay. This is a start plant and will grow quickly.
