The Air Force Basic Force Protection Badge is awarded to both officers and enlisted personnel assigned to either the security police or the special investigations career fields. This badge replaces the Security Police Qualification badge, which became obsolete in 1998. Occupupational Badges such as this Basic Force Protection Badge require enlisted personnel to complete initial skill training or possess a 5-level Air Force specialty code to wear any of the basic specialty badges. This badge displays an eagle with wings spread overlapping a globe, surrounded by a wreath. This badge is official issue, regulation size, comes in approved enamel and mirror finish, and secures to the uniform via standard prong and clutch back.
