The bushes reach 10 - 15 feet tall if unpruned. They produce large crops of top-quality blueberries, of good color, medium to large size and excellent flavor. The berries contain very few seeds. This variety produces ripe berries early in the season, so you can be eating blueberries through June and July. Blueberries can be eaten fresh, baking into pancakes, muffins and pies, or turned into preserves. Just put berries you dont need right away into the freezer - you dont even need to wash them - and you can enjoy all year round your very own blueberries from your garden. - Top quality blueberry for areas with long hot summers - Bumper crop in June and July - Large, juicy, almost seedless blue berries - Vigorous and easy to grow - Partially self-fertile The Brightwell Blueberry should be grown in acid soil with a pH below 6.0. It can also be grown in large planters or boxes, using soil for acid-loving plants, and acid fertilizers. Grow in full sun or light partial shade and keep moist. Grow a second, similar variety of blueberry nearby, such as Powder Blue, to get the heaviest crop, although Brightwell will still set some fruit if grown alone. It can be pruned to keep the height to about 6 feet, taking up less room and making picking easier too.
